Having worked in the National Health Service (NHS) for over 30 years (of which 20 years were as a consultant (senior obstetrician and gynaecologist)), Mr. Trehan now practices solely within the private sector.
Mr. Trehan’s clinic is the first and only private BSGE (British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy) accredited centre in the country (gaining this accreditation in 2009), and is based in Harley Street, London and West Yorkshire. As many of his patients often travel a considerable distance in order to see him (either from other parts of the United Kingdom or from abroad), he has special arrangements which reduces the amount of travelling his patients must do (please contact for further information). Mr. Trehan has treated a number of prominent British and international public figures and celebrities, and our clinic ensures full confidentiality at all times.
Mr. Trehan’s initial consultations are usually lengthy – around 1 hour in duration so that Mr. Trehan can:
- Fully appreciate your current symptoms caused by endometriosis and any other gynaecological conditions (eg. fibroids and cysts).
- Fully appreciate any past treatment (many of Mr. Trehan’s patients have had many previous failed medical and surgical treatments).
- Advise you on the advantages and disadvantages of the available treatment options.
- Take into account your personal circumstances in order to come up with the most appropriate and timely treatment plan for yourself which may include a diagnostic laparoscopy followed by surgery to completely remove your endometriosis.
The cost for an initial appointment is £350. Please note that any appointments at the London clinic on Harley Street which are cancelled within 4 working days of the appointment will be charged a £175 cancellation fee.
United Kingdom-based patients
You can make an appointment to see Mr. Trehan at any of his clinics by:
- Telephone – Heather Clayton on 0207 099 6732 (Monday – Friday; 9am – 5pm)
- Email on firstname.lastname@example.org (please ensure you leave a contact telephone number)
A referral letter from your GP is not required. Please note that Mr. Trehan’s secretaries are unable to offer any medical advice and the contact details above should be used only to book an appointment at one of Mr. Trehan’s clinics.
Private Medical Insurance
Mr. Trehan treats both non-insured self-paying patients, as well as patients with private medical insurance (PMI) including BUPA, AXA PPP, Cigna, WPA, Aviva, Pruhealth, Simplyhealth and others. If you are a patient insured with AXA PPP, please contact us for information on ensuring authorisation for treatment by AXA PPP.
All insured patients should note that in line with many of the country’s leading surgeons and doctors from all fields of medicine, Mr. Trehan’s fees are not fully covered by all insurance companies due to their rigid fee structures which are not based on a surgeon’s experience, skills and outcomes; many insurance companies are most concerned with finding the surgeon that will do their operations at the lowest possible cost. Further, many insurance companies do not understand the technical skills which are needed for successful endometriosis surgery nor the complicated and time-consuming nature of this surgery (which can last up to 8 hours).
Therefore, for insured patients, a proportion of the costs will be paid by the insurance companies, however there will be a shortfall payable by the patient to cover the remainder of the fees.
International patients who live outside of the United Kingdom and will be travelling to the United Kingdom for treatment should contact Mr. Trehan’s clinic by email on email@example.com.
